Contemporary Dance

Contemporary dance is quickly becoming one of the most popular styles of dance! We have classes in Contemporary from age 5-18 and teach different Contemporary techniques and styles. Classes include the teaching of choreographed routines as well as center, floor and travel work and will lead to performance opportunities. These classes is high energy and a great way to stay fit, have fun and develop new dance skills to a very high standard!
Timetable from April 2024
We encourage all of our students to take at least 2 classes per week to build the required movement memory, flexibility, strength and fitness. We offer a 20% discount for all additional classes as well as a 20% discount for all siblings who would also like to join!
Syllabus Class (Ballet, Tap, Contemporary Modern Jazz)
£4.40 (syll 1) £4.60 (syll 2) £4.75 (syll 3) £5.25 (syll4) £5.85 (syll 5) - The class that children will start out in will depend on their age and level of experience.
This class allows pupils to develop their skills in the core disciplines of Tap, Ballet and Contemporary Modern Jazz by working through IDTA syllabus grades and awards. This is a high energy class that will enable dancers to develop their strength, flexibility, coordination, fitness, discipline, confidence and social skills!
Street Dance
£4.75 per class
This class blends together different styles of dance including: Freestyle, Street, Commercial and elements of Jazz so it's sure to appeal to a variety of different tastes! It will allow your child the opportunity to take part in a high energy and fun class to popular music to learn dance to a high standard in a nurturing environment that will help them to improve their confidence, keep fit, have fun and make new friends! Our street dancers also take part in shows, exams and competitions!
Contemporary Travel, Turns and Leaps
£4.75 Per Class
Everybody loves the travel section of their class so we have decided to dedicate a whole hour to it! This will allow dancers to really concentrate on developing their skills in the areas of travel, a variety of leaps, jumps, turns and spins!
Classes start from 3 years. The most suitable classes for our smallest dancers are: Syllabus 1 and Mini Acro. Full class information can be found below.
Our school takes part in regular exam sessions and shows. We also offer dancers the opportunity to take part in competitions if they would like to take their dancing to the next level!
Acro Dance
Mini £4.75, Jr & Inter £5.25 per class
Acrobatic Dance, or acro, is the fusion of classic dance technique and the precision and athleticism of acrobatic elements. Acro dancers seamlessly blend musicality, emotional expression, line and extension with acrobatic movements in a dance context.
Our Acro classes follow the Acrobatic Arts syllabus and will allow children to build skills in the 5 key areas of: flexibility, strength, balance, limbering and tumbling.
Classes are taught through a number of levels and dancers learn skills in a specific order through progressions to ensure safe practice.
It is strongly recommended that children take a dance class alongside their Acro class to ensure their understanding of alignment is reinforced and that they are building the flexibility and strength that is needed to perform acrobatic skills. Acro dance combines Acro skills with dance and choreography but Acro dance classes will concentrate mainly on learning and developing these Acro skills. To get the most out of Acro classes, it's beneficial for students to also learn and improve their dance skills.
Adult Dance Fitness
£5 Per Class-Pay in class
Our Adult Dance Fitness class is perfect for all abilities! No previous dance experience is needed! We offer this class for adults who are looking for a way to keep fit, have fun, burn calories and get sweaty! The style of this class differs slightly depending on the dance you'll be working on but if you think 'Zumba', you're on the right track!

20% Sibling and multiple class discounts offered!
First child (or the class of the higher cost) will be charged at full price per class. A 20% discount will be applied after that for any additional siblings attending classes. If children take more than one class, a 20% discount will be given for the class of the lower cost.
Payment
Classes are paid for one calendar month in advance following an invoice.
Your first class will be offered free as a trail class!
