We are doing all we can to ensure the safety of our dancers during these difficult times. Please read below the precautions that we have in place to do our part in helping to stop the spread of Covid-19:

Guidelines for Returning (Providers of Grassroots Sport and Gym/Leisure Facilities)

Managing risk
-Dancers will be asked to use hand sanitiser on entering the building and when leaving
-Door handles will be cleaned in-between classes
-Teachers are lateral flow tested twice a week

 Further mitigating actions include:
-Dancers will be working in fixed teams; this means that dancers can only take part in one class until guidelines adapt to allow dancers to participate in  more than one fixed team.
-Dancers will use side to side formations.

Keeping safe
-Please arrive in uniform. Only bring dance shoes and water into the dance space (no bags or coats).
-Music will be played at lower level to avoid having to raise our voices. This is because of the potential for increased risk of transmission
-Floor markers will be used to allow dancers to follow social distancing rules.
-Classes will operate with side to side facing, contact work and face to face formations will be removed from choreography for the time being.
-Payments should be made in an envelope or money bag clearly marked with your child’s name and the amount being paid.
-Parents/Guardians/chaperones will not be able to enter the dance space as we are limited to how many people we can allow into a room.

-Unfortunately we will not be able to provide a waiting area during this time.
-If parents do need to talk to us, please consider texting, calling or emailing us. This is because class times have been put into place to reduce overlaps so it is important to start and end classes on time. If you need to talk to us immediately, please allow us the time to get all dancers into the building and settled into their dance space

Manage capacity and overcrowding
-We will be operating in fixed teams of 15.

Moving in, out and through facilities
-We will be operating a one way system for entering and exiting the building to minimise contact with other groups. This will create 2 queuing systems; one for dropping off children (to the right as you are looking at the building and using the bottom entrance) and one (to the left as you are looking at the building) for those waiting for their class or for chaperones collecting their child
-Floor markers will be used to help our dancers to observe social distancing rules.

Contact while using facilities
-Contact will be removed from choreography for the time being.
-We will observe social distancing rules at all time with the exception of an accident, emergency or the help younger children change their shoes. Dancers in syllabus 1, 2, 3 and 4 should come ready to start in their tap shoes, this is to minimise the contact between dancers and teachers whilst tying shoe laces. If your child cannot yet tie their laces, please consider replacing laces with elastic.
-Classes that require shared equipment (acro) will return later than the rest of our classes when guidelines deem it safe to do so.
-Dancers will enter the building with just the essentials that they need for their class (shoes, water). These items will be taken to their own space that will be marked out to allow for social distancing and  to avoid congestion in doorways/entrances/exits/changing spaces

Supporting Test and Trace
-The opening up of the economy following the COVID-19 outbreak is being supported by NHS Test and Trace. As usual, we will keep a register of attendance but we will also ask children who has dropped them off for their class and record this information which will be kept for 21 days to assist NHS Test and Trace with requests for that data if needed to help contain clusters or outbreaks.

Spectators & children
-We will not allow any spectators of classes at this time
-Chaperones to children will be asked to drop off and collect children at the door and observe social distancing rules whilst waiting
-Our younger classes that require chaperone participation will return at a later time to the rest of our classes when guidelines deem it safe to do so.

Selling merchandise
-Uniforms will still be available to purchase, please bring money in an envelope clearly marked with your child’s name, size and item required.
